Tuivasa vs Tybura

From the land down under to Las Vegas this weekend, fan favorite and 9th ranked heavyweight Tai Tuivasa is back in action against fellow ranked heavyweight Marcin Tybura. An action-packed main event and plenty more exciting fights will give UFC fans something to cheer for this saturday from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Main Event

It's a shame we have to watch this main event in the UFC Apex where there will only be about 200 people in attendance to watch two very exciting fighters who feed off of the crowd's energy. This fight was originally scheduled for last weekend on the UFC 299 card where it rightfully belonged. Instead, we will have to wait a week to see two strikers with fun personalities.

Tai Tuivasa is coming off of a loss in his last fight back in the UFC 293 co-main event back in his home country of Australia. The 30-year-old has had plenty of memorable moments in the octogen and a bounce back win against a fellow top 10 contender will put him in the right direction. Tai has plenty of power and finishing ability but has also shown he is very prone to being finished as well.

His opponent, Marcin Tybura is towards the back end of his UFC career at 38 years old but will look get back to his winning ways after being knocked out by the current UFC interim champion, Tom Aspinall in his last fight. Before that, Tybura had won 7 of his last 8 fights with impressive wins. While it may be too late to contend for a title, the Polish native will have aspirations to finish his career on a high note.

Other Fights

  • Ovince Saint Preux vs Kennedy Nzechukwu- UFC veteran, Ovince Saint Preux is back in the octogen for his 44th professional fight. The former title challenger is older now but has had many memorable moments in the UFC including being known for his 4 von fluke submission wins. He will face a Nigerian striker with plenty of KO power. Nzechukwu is in the prime of his career and is looking for a big name to put on his resume.

  • Bryan Battle vs Ange Loosa- The co-main event this Saturday features two very exciting young fighters. Both Battle and Loosa have interesting styles and like to get a finish. Neither of them are big names nor ranked fighters, but they both will look to start a win streak by finishing the man in the opposite corner.

Suga Sean in Spain or the Sphere?

After Sean O'Malley had a dominant win in Miami last Saturday night against Marlon Vera, he was asked what was next for him. His response was "Dana, get me a jet to Spain and give me Ilia Touporia." The Suga Show in Spain would be a really great fight against Ilia Touporia, the Spanish 145-pound champion. This would be one of the biggest fights in recent memory due to the stardom that they both have. However, I think this might be a little premature for this fight to happen.

Sean O'Malley has looked phenomenal in his two 135 lb. championship fights, but he still has work to do before going up a weight class for a second belt. Bantamweight is one of the most stacked divisions in the UFC and it seems like almost a guarantee that Sean will have to get through Merab Dvalishvili first, the number 1 ranked contender. Merab is on a 10-fight win streak and there is no one more deserving than him. No matter how much Dana White loves his new superstar, he's going to have to fight Merab first. Merab has said anytime, anywhere for the fight and both of them have agreed that the sphere would be the perfect place for a fight.

So, before we get to see two of the biggest rising stars fight for the 145 lb. belt, lets allow both of them to prove it and build their resume even more before this mega fight.
